Vanaf 2025 gaat box 1 (belastbaar inkomen uit werk en woning) op de schop. Het kabinet heeft een fiscaal voorstel ingediend waarin een derde schijf is opgenomen. Met deze wijziging, onderdeel van het pakket Belastingplan 2025, betaal je een lager belastingpercentage over het eerste deel van je inkomen. Daarmee wil het kabinet de lage- en middeninkomens verlichten.
In 2024 betaal je in box 1 van de loon- en inkomstenbelasting een basistarief van 36,97% over een inkomen tot € 75.518. Over het bedrag daarboven geldt een toptarief van 49,5%. In 2025 komt er een extra tariefschijf, mits het voorstel wordt goedgekeurd. Deze nieuwe belastingschijf zal het eerste deel van je box 1-inkomen tegen een lager tarief belasten.
De eerste schijf inkomstenbelasting box 1 geldt bij een inkomen tot € 38.441 per jaar. Het tarief hiervoor wordt verlaagd naar 35,82%. Er komt daarnaast een tweede schijf van 37,48% die geldt bij een inkomen tussen de € 38.441 en € 76.817 per jaar. Voor inkomen daarboven blijft het tarief 49,5%.

Uit de plannen valt ook op te maken dat de voorgenomen versobering van de giftenaftrek in de inkomstenbelasting en vennootschapsbelasting minder drastisch wordt doorgevoerd. Een deel van de oppositie verzette zich tegen deze versobering.
Dit betekent voor jou dat het bedrag dat je mag aftrekken voor giften in de inkomstenbelasting (box 1) weliswaar wordt beperkt, maar minder fors dan eerder het plan was.
Momenteel kunnen hoogopgeleide expats via hun werkgever gebruikmaken van een aantrekkelijke belastingregeling, de expatregeling. In de eerste vijf werkzame jaren in Nederland betalen ze over 30% van hun loon geen belasting. Deze regeling is bedoeld om expats te compenseren voor reiskosten en kosten om een woning in te richten. Dit is volgens innovatieve bedrijven noodzakelijk om de status van Nederland als gewilde werklocatie te behouden.
Vanaf 1 januari 2024 werd de expatregeling versoberd. Bovendien lagen er plannen om het belastingvoordeel vanaf 2025 stapsgewijs af te bouwen van 30% naar 10%. Nu blijkt uit Prinsjesdagplannen dat het belastingvoordeel voor expats slechts 3% omlaag gaat: van 30% naar 27%.
Bezit je naast aandelen in de bv ook andere vormen van privévermogen, zoals spaargeld, beleggingen of een tweede woning? Dan betaal je ook vermogensbelasting in box 3.
